| The annual average change of the CDCPI computed by the Central Bank
of Sri Lanka was 8.9 per cent in July 2001. The WPI showed an annual average change of
5.8 per cent in May CCPI , Prices of
commodities in the food ctegory decreased by 1.3 per cent.
prices of garlic,cummin seed, red onions, most varieties
of fresh fish and some varieties of vegetables decreased during
the month. However,price increases were recorded for rice , dried
chillies , coconut oil, some varieties of dried fish, potatoes,
coconuts and eggs. |
