Export Proceeds

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has decided to introduce an export proceeds monitoring mechanism with effect from 3rd January 2005 to improve the foreign exchange management system. The information to be collected by the Central Bank under this system will also help to improve the compilation of balance of payment statistics and the analysis of external sector developments. All exporters are therefore, kindly requested to furnish to me the details on their export proceeds on a quarterly basis. The information on export proceeds as at 31/12/2004 in respect of exports as declared to the Customs by each exporter during 3rd quarter of 2004 should be forwarded to me in the attached format on or before 24th January 2005.
